Basics

What is odkz.sk? +
odkz.sk is a Slovak URL shortening service. Turn a long link into a short one (e.g. odkz.sk/my-promo), share it anywhere, and track how many times people click it (registered users only).
Do I need to register to shorten a link? +
No. Anonymous shortening works instantly without registration — just paste your URL and click. By registering you get permanent link storage, analytics, custom codes, and more advanced features.
How long does an anonymous link last? +
Anonymous links expire after 7 days from creation. Registered users have their links stored permanently until they delete them.
Can I change the target URL after creating a link? +
You cannot change the target URL after creation. You can, however, delete the link and create a new one. A custom code (e.g. odkz.sk/my-code) can be chosen by registered users before creation.
What is a QR code and how do I get one? +
A QR code is automatically generated for every shortened link and can be downloaded as an image. Useful for print materials, banners, business cards, or presentations — scanning it with a phone redirects the visitor to your target URL.

What is the difference between Free and PRO? +

Free: 5 active links, 24-hour analytics, QR codes, UTM parameters, and API access.

PRO: 30 links, unlimited analytics (full history), custom codes, password protection, expiry (date or click limit), geo/device routing, A/B testing, and link health monitoring.

Is the PRO plan really free? +
Yes — after registration you get 1 month of PRO trial for free, no credit card required, no automatic subscription. After the trial ends, your account automatically switches to the Free plan.
What happens after the PRO trial ends? +
Your account switches to the Free plan. Your existing shortened links remain active, but PRO features (custom codes, routing, A/B tests…) become unavailable. Analytics is limited to the last 24 hours.
What is a custom link code? +
Instead of a randomly generated code (e.g. aB3xK), you choose your own string: odkz.sk/my-company or odkz.sk/summer-sale. Available for PRO users.
How does link expiry work? +
PRO users can set an expiry date or a maximum click count. Once the limit is reached, the link stops working — visitors see an error page, or you can redirect them to a fallback URL of your choice.
What is link password protection? +
Registered PRO users can add a password to a link. The visitor must enter the correct password before being redirected — share content only with those you give the password to.
What is geo/device routing? +

A single link can redirect visitors to different URLs based on their device or country:

  • iOS visitors → App Store
  • Android visitors → Google Play
  • Slovakia → Slovak version of the site, Czech Republic → Czech version

All other visitors are redirected to the main (default) URL.

What is A/B link testing? +
A/B testing splits clicks between two or more URLs based on weights you set (e.g. 70% → version A, 30% → version B). Great for testing different landing pages or CTAs without changing your campaign link.
What is link monitoring? +
The system periodically checks whether your target URL is reachable. If the target website goes down (error 404, 500, or outage), you'll see a warning next to that link in your dashboard.
What is Social Preview and why does it matter? +

Social Preview (OG tags) controls how your link appears when shared on social networks like Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or via WhatsApp and Telegram.

PRO users can set a custom:

  • Title — main headline of the preview card
  • Description — short text displayed below the title
  • Image — URL of an image to show as the preview thumbnail

Without a custom Social Preview, content from the target page is used — if the target has no OG tags, the preview will be empty or generic.

BIO Page

What is a BIO page? +
Your BIO page is your own profile card at odkz.sk/your-link — avatar, name, short bio, and a list of buttons linking to your social profiles, website, or store. Perfect for the link in bio on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube.
How do I create a BIO page? +
After logging in, go to BIO Page in the dashboard, fill in your display name, a short bio, and pick a theme. The page is created at an auto-generated URL, which PRO users can change to a custom one.
How many buttons can I have on my BIO page? +
Free: up to 3 buttons. PRO: unlimited buttons. You can add, edit, hide, or reorder buttons at any time.
Can I change the appearance of my BIO page? +
Yes. You can choose from 5 preset color themes (Dark, Cyan, Violet, Sunset, Light). PRO users can also set fully custom colors — background gradient and button color — to match their brand.
Can I have a custom BIO page URL? +
Free users get an auto-generated URL (e.g. odkz.sk/aB3xK). PRO users can choose a custom address, e.g. odkz.sk/your-brand.
Can I see visit and click stats for my BIO page? +
Yes. In the dashboard you can see the total number of BIO page views and individual click counts for each button.

Analytics & Privacy

What analytics data can I see for my links? +

For each link we show:

  • Visitor's country and city
  • Device type (mobile, tablet, desktop)
  • Operating system and browser
  • Traffic source (Facebook, Google, WhatsApp, direct…)
  • Click-over-time chart (hours / days)
How long is analytics data available? +
Free plan: last 24 hours
PRO plan: full history with no time limit
Do you store visitor IP addresses? +
No. The IP address is used solely for geolocation (determining country and city) and is immediately discarded. It is never stored in our database. Geolocation is resolved using the offline MaxMind GeoLite2 database — no IP address ever leaves our servers.
Are bot and crawler clicks counted? +
No. Clicks from bots (Googlebot, Facebook preview bot, Twitterbot, Slackbot, and others) are automatically filtered out and do not count toward your stats. You only see real visitors.

API & Technical

Does odkz.sk have a public API? +
Yes. The REST API lets you programmatically create short links, read statistics, and manage your links. Access is via a Bearer token generated in the Developers section of your account. The API is available to all registered users.
Is odkz.sk secure? How do you check for malicious URLs? +
Every link goes through an automatic security check. Phishing and malware URLs are blocked before they are saved. We use HTTPS, no third-party cookies, and we never share your data with ad networks.
Where can I report an abusive or harmful link? +
Via our form on the Report Abusepage. Every report is manually reviewed and harmful content is blocked.
How can I delete my account? +
Directly in your account settings (My Account → Danger Zone → Delete Account). Deletion permanently removes all your links, analytics, and API tokens. This action is irreversible.
